The story

Cuervo y Sobrinos as the Official Timekeeper of Iberian Historic Endurance, is pleased to unveil a limited-edition chronograph, the aptly-named Historiador Historic Endurance.

The model has a bicompax dial presented in British Racing Green with contrasting silver-toned counters, two colours that get along well with Racing. Housed in a 40mm stainless steel case, this watch should suit most wrists.

The composition of the dial is enriched with a myriad of subtle, well-chosen details. While the silver-coloured hour and minute hands, along with the small seconds hand located at 3 o’clock, are all leaf-shaped, the hand fitted to the 30-minute counter is presented in black and sports a prominent triangular tip.

Cuervo y Sobrinos is the official timekeeper of Iberian Historic Endurance, a series of races staged on some of Europe’s iconic race tracks.

At the heart of the Iberian Historic Endurance is the concept of gentlemen drivers who share a passion for competition, but in a convivial and relaxed atmosphere, where emotions are experienced and friendships to last are created.

Cuervo y Sobrinos, offers an exclusive watch to the winner of the Index Performance of each competition. More than valuing the first to cross the finish line, this index values the best "performance" according to age, cylinder capacity and type of car ( Touring, GT or Sport).

Furthermore, to strengthen and celebrate the connection between Iberian Historic Endurance and Cuervo y Sobrinos, this latter  decided to develop a limited-edition bicompax vintage-inspired watch.

The tachymeter scale is shown against a black background, augmenting legibility. The word, ‘Taquimetro’, meaning tachymeter in both Portuguese and Spanish, pays tribute to the origins of the historic race.

Measuring 40mm in diameter, the stainless steel case befits present-day tastes. To the rear of the watch, a pane of sapphire crystal affords sight of the CYS 8129 automatic calibre.

In addition, the crystal is decorated with ‘Historic Endurance' official logo of the competition and the number 76: as the year, 1976, of the youngest cars that are allowed to join the race, which stands also for the limited number of pieces created for this masterpiece.
