Cuervo y Sobrinos, the prestigious Swiss watch brand with a Latin heart, founded in Havana in 1882, gave its 2011 “Latino Internacional” prize to musician Chucho Valdés.

This award, created in 2003, honors celebrities of Spanish or Hispanic origin distinctive for international renown in their spheres of work. Film director Pedro Almodovar, actor Andy Garcia, tenor Placido Domingo, singer Miguel Bosé are some of the famous people receiving the prize in the past.

For its tenth edition, Cuervo y Sobrinos paid tribute to the most important musician of post-revolution Cuba, and as an award for his career our master watchmaker personalized for the performer an exclusive Prominente model from the Cuervo y Sobrinos collection.

The prize was awarded during the Festival del Habano 2012 in Havana, Cuba, on February 29 at 2 pm at the Hotel Palco, the Havana Convention Center, in the presence of our director, Mauro Coppo.
