Cuervo y Sobrinos celebrates for the first time his Latino Award in Mexico

On Tuesday, October 17, 2023 Cuervo y Sobrinos, the Latin watch brand with Cuban roots, inaugurated the first Latino Award in Mexico. Established in 2003, this prestigious award aims to recognize outstanding personalities of Hispanic origin who have achieved international fame for their talents.

The Latino Award 2023 was held at the St. Regis Hotel in Mexico City, during the Salón Internacional Alta Relojería México (SIAR), the Place to be for the watch industry in Latin America.

For the first time in its history, the award honored a prominent Mexican figure, the well-known actor Mauricio Ochmann. Born in the United States but living in Mexico from an early age, he not only adopted Mexican nationality but also built an acclaimed career in this country. 

His fame in the entertainment industry throughout Latin America testifies his significant impact on Mexican film and television industry. His temper and lifestyle made him a beloved figure among audiences and an example of perseverance and dedication.

With more than 15 movies in his history, Ochmann's active participation in the cinema industry is evident. His roles in numerous television series, popular worldwide, demonstrate his versatility and global reach as an actor.

John Hemingway, writer, journalist, and grandson of the legendary Ernest Hemingway, who is also ambassador and friend of Cuervo y Sobrinos, had the honor of handing over the Latino Award to Mauricio Ochmann.

The watch that Cuervo y Sobrinos choose  for the award is the "Historiador Tradición San Rafael” – a iconic vintage inspired model that stands for elegance and refinement.

The watch of Maurico Ochmann has been customized with the logo of the Latino award and engraved with the name of the Mexican actor.

This edition featured another guest speaker, the popular Mexican influencer Manola Canalizo, who along with the other guests of honor were able to capture the attention of the attending press, guests and visitors.

The award-winning actor joins the list of personalities who have been honored with the Latino Award, a recognition that celebrates the impact and contribution of Hispanics on the international stage.

It was an honor to celebrate the award winning accomplishments at the 17th edition of SIAR in Mexico, together with the collaboration of Cuervo y Sobrinos' Mexican partner, Artis Distribution.
